About me
My name is Shekoo and I am the person behind Baby Blossom [MAYBE SOMETHING MORE SNAPPY]. I am a qualified midwife, registered nurse and certified breastfeeding cousellor [CHECK IF THIS IS RIGHT], with many years of experience working with families in London and abroad.
I give hands-on support, coaching and personalised care for new parents. I focus on building confidence, offering reassurance, and supporting families as they adapt to the many changes of early parenthood. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach — every family’s journey is unique.
As a midwife, I supported new mothers and their partners in London, Budapest, and Rome, providing community-based care during pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period.
Living and working overseas, particularly with expatriate families, gave me a deep understanding of the challenges new parents can face when they are away from their families and familiar support networks. These experiences shaped my compassionate and inclusive approach to care.
In 2022 [CHECK THIS IS CORRECT], I moved back to London and joined the NHS as a clinical manager in a research team. This role strengthened my commitment to evidence-based care and reinforced the importance of clear, accessible, and trustworthy information — especially in a world where parents are seeking clarity and reassurance among many voices and perspectives.
The meaning behind Baby Blossom
Baby Blossom holds a deeply personal meaning for me. My name, Shekoofeh, means Blossom — a symbol of gentle growth and new beginnings. Just as blossoms slowly unfold into fruit, babies grow and flourish through love, nourishment, and a caring touch.
Breastfeeding and baby massage honour this natural journey. They offer moments of closeness, comfort, and
connection, supporting both baby and parent through each season of growth and development. These early
experiences help build a foundation of safety, trust, and wellbeing that can last a lifetime.
